More from online discussion

Think Before You Blog
My view ("I'm still working on my conversion"!) Good blog cartoons

Another discussion thread in last Tuesday's session (see Joy's blog below), was about the use of blogs.

We ranged over a number of issues. Among them were:
- various purposes of blogs;
- personal preference affecting our use of blogging;
- how we are using blogs;
- the need for us to experience blogging before recommending it to others;
and - the value of blogs in connectivity.

See also Dr Stephen Warbuton's slide show - "Deploying Social Software in teaching and learning environments" - lots of good points, arguments, uses of blogs with/for students.

WWWtools for teachers "Blogging for Learning 2006" is a good overview of blogging and has many links to other sites on the topic.

Alex and I regularly have a giggle with team blogs that have one post - 'this is my blog' or 'this is a test'... unless you have something to say don't write a book
