we started off talking about which tool works best for which student and then we got on to the concepts of closed networks such as edna groups as compared to open networks and the endless possibilities of blogs etc.
this was the most important issue for me and my thoughts are:
- closed networks are useful for building rapport, creating and environment for collaboration and sharing but they can also be stifling and critical in a negative sense if not moderated well
- blogs can be very interactive and have the possiblity of reaching an unlimited number of new readers/ participants and therefore open up new lines of communication and networks
so then i got my act together , opened a google reader account ( thanks to the great video instructions on learnscope wikispace) , collected some RSS feeds and i'm off on a new adventure!
I'd love to hear from others what are your favourite "feeds" and still intersted to hear how you are using particuilar tools with particular learners and why they work ...
